Disney’s new Star Wars director isn’t too ‘feminist’ – she’s too inexperienced

January 5: The Telegraph reported Star Wars fans are in freefall. Disney recently unveiled award-winning documentarian Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy as the director of its next Star Wars movie, New Jedi Order, and a great shriek of horror has gone up among certain members of the fanbase. Obaid-Chinoy, who received an Oscar in 2012 for a film about acid attacks on women in Pakistan, will create history as both the first female director of a Star Wars feature and as the first non-white filmmaker to oversee a big-screen foray into the Force. Read more I
